The Neuro Physiotherapy Department of Datta Meghe College of physiotherapy focuses on the rehabilitation of individuals with neurological conditions or injuries, such as stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and others. Physiotherapists in this department employ a range of techniques to address issues such as motor impairments, sensory impairments, functional limitations, gait abnormalities, co-ordination impairment, cognitive problems, swallowing difficulties, etc. Treatment modalities may include approaches like Neurodevelopmental technique, task oriented training, motor relearning program, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, balance training, cognitive rehab, neuromuscular electrical stimulation and many more. Additionally, equipment’s in Neuro OPD include parallel bar for ambulation, gait training equipment, assistive devices like walker, stick, frames, assessment tools that include sensation kit, hammer to assess reflexes, putty, therarod for grip strengthening, Swiss balls, orthosis, functional electrical stimulation,etc. Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care are essential for success in this department.
